It's true what they say that life comes in waves. They're beautiful to behold from a far, but the danger comes when you're knee deep in troubles; waves can easily overtake you. The view is never that great when you're in the river, but it's breathtaking from

"the bridge"

What's the sense in trudging through the river? Someone has made a way for you to get to the other side. Your well being is at hand so take the bridge and stay safe upon dry land.

This painting is very close to my heart as it connects with my life on a deeper level than most and is the first painting I had done that had deeper meaning than just a pretty picture. At this point in my painting career I was exiting a romanticist mindset and having my own personal renaissance. If you know me, you know that my faith is very important to me. This piece is expresses the need for a Saviour in Jesus Christ as he is the bridge between God and this world. He is the one who has prepared the way over the water and given us a way that is unaffected by the waves of this world. We rise above the waves and cross into glory on the other side of this life. I will one day be on the other side of the river of life and bask in the bright sunlight that is the presence of God and Jesus Christ!

The couple standing on the bridge is a symbol of the Lord coming to meet His bride (the church) half way and guides her to the other side of this life where we shall be with Him for all eternity. I look forward to this day and until then I will walk with Him in spirit until the day when I see Him face to face.
